More Motorcycle Riding Adventures for a Good Cause

Paul Ehline Memorial Motorcycle Ride Journal and Blog

In the Marines, we are only as fast as our slowest Marine. When you want to get somewhere fast, everyone needs that training, spirit, and discipline! When we say, “I will be there at 19:00 hours,” we mean 18:30. When we call or text someone, especially a civilian lawyer supposedly there to protect us, we expect a sense of urgency and immediacy, not garbage, narcissistic excuses. Paul Ehline Memorial Ride is dedicated to raising awareness for wounded warriors and getting them the help they deserve, hopefully from a fellow vet with some legal experience, not some self-important academic who has never been in the real world. Take a look at our recent posts for motorcycle riders and injured vets.

US Supreme Court Rejects Veteran’s Challenge to Disability Benefits

 |  Michael P. Ehline
Just as we thought the ball started rolling for veterans seeking compensation, a recent decision of the apex court blocked all opportunities for backdated compensation for our nation’s heroes after an Air Force veteran challenged the federal department that denied him certain disability benefits. At Paul Ehline Ride, our Military Veterans Service Organization helps raise awareness and advocate for much-needed legislation for the veteran communities. The decision by the Supreme Court requires your attention, and if we work together, we can help make a difference. Arellano v. McDonough: A Case of Denied Retroactive Benefits Arellano provided his services to the US Navy between 1977 and 1981 on an aircraft carrier. On one unfortunate day, the aircraft carrier experienced a collisi…

 |  Michael P. Ehline
Introduction When you think of veterans, you imagine brave soldiers fighting enemies, using tactics to reveal enemy hideouts, and working together to end terrorism. That’s about right, but there are more dangerous elements that threaten the lives of our courageous soldiers than just enemies. One such threat is a burn pit. Burn pit exposure has been a heatedly debated topic in the US politics for several years. You’ve probably seen footages of veterans protesting to get disability benefits and probably all the drama that took place in the Congress. To know the nature of this danger, you have to understand what burn pits are how they have affected veterans over the course of more than three decades. Understanding the Burn Pits When the army either seizes a military base fro…

Proving Service-Related Cancer and Getting VA Benefits

 |  Michael P. Ehline
Introduction The life of a veteran is tough during their active duty service and even after that. It is a well-known fact that soldiers who actively fight on many battlefields and complete several military operations find it hard to return to a normal life when they come back home. However, even if they try to adjust to the calmer lifestyle, they are forced into fighting on some other fronts. Cancers resulting from service connections have become the new front for millions of vets. Are you a veteran who has recently been diagnosed with cancer? If that’s the case, continue reading because it will help you know the next steps you must take as soon as possible.

Diseases Veterans Get from Agent Orange

 |  Michael P. Ehline
A person fighting for the country is admired for their audacity, bravery, and valor. However, it compels you to admire them more when you realize they are not fighting the enemies alone. The truth is, an individual in the military is facing many other threats that are either less or completely unknown to the world. Among the many things that went from threats to real dangers there’s agent orange. Agent orange exposure has affected military veterans more than enemies or anything else for that matter. Veterans who were exposed to agent orange have lived their lives with many types of cancers. What makes matters worse is that most diseases associated with agent orange were discovered after these military men and women completed their military service. Today, most of these vets are in…

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in Veterans – All You Need to Know

 |  Michael P. Ehline
If your military service has resulted in non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, you are eligible for VA health benefits and compensation. How much compensation you get depends on the severity of your condition. At the same time, you could get full compensation despite getting a low disability rating from VA if your condition is preventing you from working. There are many other things you need to know about VA disability benefits for non Hodgkin’s lymphoma that will come later as you continue to read. Let’s start with a basic understanding of the condition and then get into the details of disability benefits, the presumptive service connection of this disease, and how veterans got it.
